Faculty of Applied Arts Hosts “Creativity is an Idea” Student Exhibition

As part of the Faculty’s ongoing commitment to supporting student activities and fostering creative potential, Prof. Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, alongside Prof. Dr. Diaa El-Din Mostafa, Dean of the Faculty, inaugurated the student exhibition *“Creativity is an Idea”* on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Gehan Fouad, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Dr. Fatma Ahmed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Dr. Marwa Mamdouh, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Dr. Nermeen Atef, Student Activities Coordinator; Dr. Sherine Othman, Associate Professor and Head of the Spinning, Weaving, and Knitting Department; Mr. Ahmed Sayed, Director of Youth Welfare; along with a distinguished group of faculty members and students.

The exhibition was organized as part of the Faculty’s student activities plan for the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. It featured an outstanding selection of works by preparatory-year students, as well as projects from students of the Departments of Spinning, Weaving, and Knitting; Industrial Design; Textile Printing, Dyeing, and Finishing; and Interior Design and Furniture, in addition to creative works by postgraduate students. The exhibits reflected a rich diversity of ideas and artistic techniques, demonstrating a high level of innovation and professionalism across various disciplines.

Prof. Dr. Hamada Mohamed expressed his appreciation for the exceptional quality of the displayed works, noting that the exhibition reflects the dedication of both students and faculty members. He emphasized that it embodies the Faculty’s vision of fostering creativity and innovation while aligning academic learning with labor market demands. He also commended the vital role of student activities in developing students’ personalities and enhancing their artistic and professional skills.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Diaa El-Din Mostafa affirmed that the exhibition serves as an important platform for showcasing students’ creative talents, providing them with the opportunity to present their artistic output and exchange experiences. This, he noted, contributes to refining their skills and bridging the gap between academic study and practical application, reinforcing the Faculty’s role in preparing distinguished graduates capable of innovation and competitiveness in the job market.
