Activities of the Seminar on the Dangers of Drugs and Addiction

As part of the Community Service and Environmental Development Plan of the Faculty of Applied Arts at Beni Suef University, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Tarek Ali, President of Beni Suef University, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Diaa El-Din Mostafa, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Fatma Ahmed Hussein, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, an awareness seminar titled **“The Dangers of Drugs and Addiction”** was held this morning, Tuesday, 4 November 2025.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Taha Gouda from the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine – Beni Suef University, and Director of “Fajr” Addiction Treatment Center, delivered an engaging presentation highlighting the various causes that may lead a person to addiction, the nature and types of harm that may affect the individual and society as a result of this negative phenomenon, how to deal with an addicted person once discovered, and the stages of recovery from different types of drugs. He also emphasized the crucial role of the family, school, university, and society in preventing this phenomenon and reducing its harmful impact, which could ultimately lead a person to destruction.
The seminar was coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mohy El-Din, Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Design and a member of the Community Service and Environmental Development Committee.
Students, faculty members, and teaching assistants praised the high quality of the seminar content.
