Activities of the Environmental Protection Seminar

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, and Prof. Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel-Mawgod, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Diaa El-Din Mustafa, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Fatima Ahmed Hussein, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and with the participation of Prof. Dr. Gehan Fouad, Head of the Department of Industrial Design, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Samah Ali Abdo, Assistant Professor in the Department of Textile Printing, Dyeing, and Finishing, the Faculty of Applied Arts organized a seminar entitled "Environmental Protection" on Tuesday, April 22, at 12:00 PM.
The seminar discussed several topics related to environmental protection, including natural and synthetic dyes, textile printing and dyeing processes, and how their negative impacts on soil, water, and air can be mitigated through the use of modern scientific technologies.
The seminar also covered the concept of upcycling, highlighting the differences between upcycling, recycling, and downcycling, and clarified the designer's role in each of these concepts to extend the product's lifespan and optimize the use and consumption of resources.
