Seminar Titled "Applied Arts and Society"

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mervat Rifaat, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts, and Prof. Dr. Fatma Ahmed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty of Applied Arts organized a seminar titled "Applied Arts and Society" on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
The seminar was delivered by:

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Safi El-Din – Professor, Department of Interior Design and Furniture

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noha Radwan – Associate Professor, Department of Textile Printing, Dyeing, and Finishing

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yasmin Abdel Aziz – Associate Professor, Department of Spinning, Weaving, and Knitting
The seminar covered several key topics, including:

The concept of sustainability in design and the role of applied arts in improving quality of life

The role of art in achieving visual identity and the significance of traditional costumes in reflecting civilizations and cultures

Technical textiles, including lead-protective fabrics, astronaut suits, agricultural greenhouse fabrics, medical threads, and various other types of textiles that play a crucial role in society, along with the importance of textile recycling
The seminar witnessed remarkable participation from students and faculty members. The Dean of the Faculty recommended organizing more such seminars to enhance students' awareness of their vital role in achieving sustainable design to preserve the environment and serve the community.
