Exhibition Titled "Black & White: African Art"

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, Prof. Dr. Mervat Rifaat, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts, inaugurated an exhibition titled "Black & White: African Art" on Sunday, December 15, 2024, in the Textile Hall, First Floor.

The event was attended by:

  • Prof. Dr. Diaa El-Din Mostafa, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs

  • Prof. Dr. Fatma Ahmed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development

  • Faculty members, teaching assistants, students, and administrative staff

The exhibition showcased a collection of artistic works created by second-year students from the Department of Spinning, Weaving, and Knitting under the supervision of:

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sherine Othman

  • Eng. Fatma Abdullah

These works applied the learning outcomes of the Carpet Technology I course, utilizing various weaving techniques such as tapestry, soumak, reverse soumak, and pile weaving. The students explored African art themes using only black and white
